NYS Excelsior Scholarship Program-"The Excelsior Scholarship, in combination with other student financial aid programs, allows students to attend a SUNY or CUNY college tuition free.  The program covers tuition for SUNY and CUNY students. For the 2023-2024 academic year, families who earned $125,000 or less in the tax year 2021 are eligible to apply." Retrieved from: www.hesc.ny.gov. Students could receive up to $5,500.  The Excelsior Scholarship application typically opens for seniors in the spring of the senior year. Students may go to the HESC website and submit their phone number for updates on when the application opens. 

 

NYS Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Incentive Program-"-This scholarship is for students attending a public (SUNY) college or university in New York who meet all eligibility requirements and are willing to enter a Service Contract agreeing to work in an approved STEM field and live in NYS for five years. Recipients must be in the top 10 percent of their class. Recipients will receive annual award amounts up to the full SUNY tuition rate of $7070 per year. This amount is reduced by any other amount of tuition assistance only awards. The application period for this program is typically October 1-August 15 and is subject to change.
